Frequently Asked Questions
Do these cartridges work in any rotary tattoo machine?
Yes. These ballpoint pen cartridges are designed for universal compatibility with standard rotary pens, making them ideal for practice without needing to buy a specific machine just for that purpose. As long as your machine accepts universal cartridges, you'll be able to use them without problems. If the machine is very out of adjustment or has an extreme stroke, the feel may change slightly, but under normal conditions they work stably and consistently.
Is the sensation of drawing similar to that of tattooing on real skin?
It doesn't replace real skin, but it comes very close to the feeling of control, weight, and hand movement during tattooing. The resistance of the tip on the paper helps train pressure, continuous lines, and fluidity, something that drawing with a regular pen doesn't offer. It's an excellent bridge between traditional drawing and practice on synthetic or real skin.
Can I use these cartridges to practice on regular paper?
Yes. They work perfectly on regular paper, drawing paper, or notebooks, which makes daily practice much easier. For best results, paper with some weight is recommended, as it allows for more stable lines and reduces premature wear of the tip. Even so, you can already work on strokes, shading, and movement control on regular paper.
Do ballpoint pens wear out quickly or do they last for several sessions?
They last a long time. Each cartridge is designed for multiple training sessions, making them a much more economical option than synthetic leather or other consumables. Of course, durability depends on the intensity of use, but for regular practice they offer an excellent balance between cost and longevity, especially for those who train every day.
